Crochet With A Nylon Net

Nylon netting is sold in yard lengths at fabric stores and some hobby and craft stores. Crocheting nylon netting is done with strips of netting either cut across the width, length or bias of the fabric. Strips cut from the width and the length have no stretch, while the bias-cut strips have stretch when pulled. Crafters can cut the netting to meet their craft project's needs. For example, pot-and-pan scrunchies are made from the strips cut along the width of the fabric, while hats are made from a bias-cut strips. Make a simple crochet pot scrubber from nylon netting.

Instructions

1. Fold the nylon netting either side to side, which is a width cut or end to end, which is a length cut.. Place the folded fabric on the rotary cutting mat.

2. Place the rotary cutting ruler along the edge of the fabric. Cut 1 1/4-inch strips of nylon netting.

3. Tie the ends of each nylon strip together. Wind the long strips of nylon netting into a ball.

4. Tie a slip knot 1-inch away from one end of the strip. Slide the slip knot on the end of the desired crochet hook.

5. Chain six stitches. Connect the chain together. Single crochet in the loop 12 times. Do not hook the row together.

6. Single crochet in the next three stitches. Complete one single crochet, chain two and one single crochet in the next stitch. Do two single crochets in the next. Repeat the pattern three times for a total of 16 stitches.

7. Single crochet in the next four stitches. Single crochet, chain two and single crochet in the Chain Two opening from the row below. Repeat the pattern three times.
