Make Elmo Party Invitations

Elmo

Making Elmo party invitations is an inexpensive method for a creative party. You can create these directly from your computer. Then, print out the exact amount of invitations. Adding special greetings to each individual child can make them feel special. You can ask the parents to bring food for a potluck or ask for chaperons. Your birthday boy or girl can help you create, design and mail off the Elmo party invitations. The child could also hand-deliver the invitations to friends.

Instructions

1. Download Elmo clip art. Ultimate Kid Birthday Parties and Cartoon Clip Art are two sites that have several images to add to your party invitation.

2. Open your word processing application. Change the page layout for your invitation. Click on File, Page Setup or Page Layout, and Margins, depending on your application. Click on the Landscape option. Change the paper size to Width: 11 inches and Height: 7 inches. You can experiment with different page sizes.

3. Add the Elmo art to the party invitation. Click on the Insert tab then Pictures. Search your drive for the Elmo image to add. Click on the picture, a box will highlight Elmo. Move the image with the Position button. The Crop and Size tabs will change the image to make it bigger or smaller. You can add borders and shading around your Elmo image. In addition, you may add more than one clip art picture to your party invitation.

4. Add text. The front of the party invitation could state the child's name that you are inviting. You can have You are invited or Come join the party. Click on the Text tab to change the font, size and color. You can add the wording around the picture or next to it. You may decide to insert the words, an image and then more words.

5. Create the back of the invitation. Click the Save tab or the disk icon to save your current work. Then repeat steps 3 to 5 for the back portion of the invitation. This area should state the time, location and date. You should also write a note on specific aspects of your Elmo party.

6. Print the invitations. Setup your printer and place the paper inside. Click the print icon or File and then Print. Choose the number of copies and click, OK. Print out all of the front side of the invitation, unless each invitation has a specific name, in which case you will need to complete this individually. Then, turn over the paper and print the back side of the party invitation.
