Diy Chain Embellishment To Boots

Add some sparkle to an otherwise plain pair of boots.

A chain embellishment is the addition of a chain to a garment or accessory. A chain embellishment is a biker-chic touch that any woman can pull off for everyday fashion. Add a chain to a pair of boot to give those boots a face-lift or hide an unsightly scrape or tear. The chain can be chunky, thin or have charms or logos You can even reuse an old or broken necklace or bracelet. Stack multiple chains together for a luxurious touch. Chains are best added to the ankle of the boot, where they won't interfere with the boot opening.

Instructions

1. Cut one chain length to be 1 inch longer than the circumference of the boot ankle.

2. Cut a 2-inch length of wire.

3. Wrap the chain around the ankle of the boot.

4. Thread the wire through the last loop of both ends of the chain and twist the wire ends tight, spiraling them around each other for 1/2 inch.

5. Cut the excess wire, leaving a 1/2-inch tail of twisted wire.

6. Fold the twisted wire behind the chain and tuck it into the center of the second loop of the chain.

7. Cut and apply another chain to the other boot as above.

8. Add more chains one by one as desired to each boot. Be sure that you can open the boot before adding additional chains.
