Frigidaire Ultraquiet Iii Not Emptying All The Water

I have a Frigidaire Ultraquiet III dishwasher, Model no. FDB8TS0RCB0 (BTW, 0 = zero) and Serial no. TH40251999 (zero again).
When it runs, the water drains down to the overflow level but no further. I cleaned out the trap but still no good.
Should I try to go deeper or should I call a pro?
Thanks

When a unit like this does not drain we tend to look at what water is left. Do you notice clean or dirty water left in the unit's tub bottom?
Clean water usually indicates the fill valve is not shutting off all the way and the fill valve is weeping water in all the time = new fill valve time!!
Dirty water usually is not a dishwasher problem but more of a plumbing issue. Often the sink drain that carries the sinks water outside is not fast enough and some of this sink water is backing up into the drain hose and filling up the dishwasher through the drain hose. The drain from the sink to outside needs attention as this type of a problem indicates a slow house drain for that sink.
The dishwasher drain line should be clamped to the top underneath part of the counter before entering the sink drain plumbing, this may help the water from coming back inside the dishwasher.
I would suggest that if this does not completely assist you or resolve your concerns, contact your manufacturer and then a service tech for repairs.

Dear Chris,
Thank you for your response. For some reason, I never received notice that you had posted a reply. I just happened today to take up this issue again (life intervened) and found your response. It is very helpful. Right before the DW stopped working, we had some plumbing work done in that area -- replacing pipes. I'm beginning to wonder whether the plumber kinked the drain hose by accident. HOWEVER, the water does drain once it reaches the overflow valve. Wouldn't that seem to militate against the idea that the hose is kinked?

Chris,
Once again, thanks! I called my plumber. I'll just say he was less than responsive. But I did hook up my shop vac again and drained three inches of water. The water is relatively clean so I tend to think it MAY not be a hose issue.
However, based upon your info, I found this very helpful youtube video:
Checking the water inlet valve and Float in a Dishwasher - YouTube
I'm letting my dishwasher run again. If it still doesn't drain, I'm going to check into replacing the fill/inlet valve.
I'll keep you posted.
Thanks!

Sorry for so many postings, but I learned that what I thought was a overflow valve -- the float -- actually functions as a shutoff valve. Oops.

I replaced the valve but I still have water. One thing I didn't do -- because I don't have a voltage meter -- was to check whether electricity was being delivered to the valve.
I guess it is time to buy a voltage meter.
