Turn Off 3g On A Samsung I617

The Samsung i617, also known as the Samsung BlackJack II, is a smartphone that runs on the Windows Mobile 6 operating system. In addition to making phone calls, the phone also allows you to manage your contacts, view your calendars, browse the web and edit Microsoft Office files. The phone utilizes a 3G wireless data connection, which allows it to quickly send and receive data from a cell phone provider. There are many instances where you may be required to disable the 3G connection, such as on an airplane. The phone allows you to temporarily disable the 3G connection without turning off the phone, so that it still may be used without a data connection.

Instructions

1. Press the left soft key to open the "Start" menu from the home screen.

2. Select "Settings," "More," "Connections" and finally "Wireless Manager."

3. Use the center navigational key to highlight "Phone," then press the center "OK" button to set the phone data setting to "Off."

4. Press the left soft key below "Done" to save the wireless connection settings, and again to save your changes to the phone's connection settings. The 3G data is now disabled, however you can still use the applications contained on your phone.
