Wire Two 15inch Subs To A 1 000watt Jl Audio Car Amplifier

If you have a 1,000-watt JL audio car amplifier, you have plenty of power available for powering subwoofers. And, if you want to get a lot of bass, using two subwoofers is an excellent way to do it. There's a simple and effective way to connect two subwoofers to the amplifier.

Instructions

1. Cut a length of speaker wire long enough to reach from the amplifier's speaker outputs to the first subwoofer. Strip off the insulation from the ends of the speaker wire so each lead has 3/8 to 1/2 inch of bare wire exposed.

2. Connect the speaker wire to the amplifier's speaker outputs. Connect the positive lead of the speaker wire to the positive (+) terminal and the negative lead to the negative (-) terminal.

3. Connect the other end of the speaker wire to the speaker inputs for the subwoofer. If the subwoofer is in an enclosure, connect to the outside terminals of the box. If it is not in an enclosure, connect to the speaker terminals on the subwoofer.

4. Cut a second length of speaker wire long enough to go from the first subwoofer to the second subwoofer. Strip the insulation from the ends of the wire as in Step 1.

5. Connect the positive (+) terminal of the first subwoofer to the positive (+) terminal of the second subwoofer and the negative (-) terminal of the first subwoofer to the negative (-) terminal of the second subwoofer. The connection between the amplifier and the two subwoofers is complete.
