Hook Up A Vcr & Dish Network Receiver To A Digital Converter

A digital converter box is needed to receive and process television programming on older analog TV sets. Connecting a Dish Network receiver to a VCR for recording programs requires the intermediate step of connecting a digital converter box. Standard audio/video cables available at electronics stores are the only additional materials need to complete the connections.

Instructions

1. Connect a coaxial cable from the Dish Network "Output" jack, on the back of the component, to the "In" jack on the digital converter box. The coaxial cable connects by turning the threaded nut clockwise on each end to the threading on the outside of the jacks.

2. Plug a set of RCA audio/video cables into the "Output" jacks on the digital converter box. Use the yellow plug for the video connection and the white and red plugs for the left and right audio connections.

3. Connect the other ends of the RCA audo/video cables to the VCR's Recording or Input jacks.
