Edit The Registry On Windows Mobile

If you have a mobile phone or mobile device that uses Windows Mobile, your mobile operating system works very similarly to your operating system on your home computer. Just like with your computer at home, the registry on your Windows Mobile operating system is editable with the exception that you must use a third-party application to accomplish this task. There are plenty of free, downloadable applications that are easy to use, and all work in the same basic way.

Instructions

1. Download and install one of the free registry editing applications available online, such as Dotfred's Task Manager Application, Total Commander and CeRegEditor.

2. Plug your phone or mobile device to your computer using the sync wire provided when you purchased the device. The sync wire is the USB cable for your device.

3. Back up the entire contents of the device onto your computer in case anything goes wrong during the registry key edit. Note that editing the operating system's registry incorrectly can cause your device to malfunction.

4. Press the "Windows" key and the "R" key and type in the name of the registry editing application. Click "Run."

5. Browse through the HKEY_ folders that show up on the registry editor application to locate the registry key that you wish to edit, delete, or otherwise modify.

6. Right-click on the key to see the options for that key. Select "Delete" to delete the key or double-click to edit the key.
