Customize An Htc Touch

Smartphones are useful devices for organization and provide easy access to email, calendars and address books as well as serving as a mobile phone. Once you become familiar with the uses and functions of a smartphone, users can easily customize their device to access frequent applications and services. The HTC Touch is a popular device that has a range of functions, creating a tool that becomes a personalized extension of the owner.


Instructions


Start Menu and Display








1. Tap "Start" at the top of your screen to activate the drop-down menu. Select "Settings" and "System" tab to set defaults.








2. Tap the "Backlight" option and select the "Brightness" tab to access slider bars to adjust the default brightness.


Tap the "Backlight" option and select the "Battery power" tab to select a time delay for the backlight.


3. Tap the "Screen" settings to access the "Text Size" tab and move the slider to adjust the default text size.


4. Tap the "Device ID" tab to access device information. Type a device name in the field.


Appearance and Home Screen


5. Tap "Start" at the top of the screen and select the "Settings" option. Tap the "Personal" tab and select "Today" to set the Home Screen display.


Click the "Appearance" tab and select the desired color scheme from the menu.


6. Click the "Items" tab and select the items to appear on the Today screen by tapping. Change the order by tapping an item and tap the button to "Move Up" or "Move Down."


7. Click the box to select the option, "Use this picture as the background" and click the "Browse" button to access a list of picture files.


Tap the file name of the picture to select.


Tap the "OK" button.


8. Click the "Owner Information" option and select the "Identification" tab to access the fields to type owner name and contact information.


If desired, click the "Options" tab under "Owner Information" to click the box "Identification Information" to display your personal information.


9. Select "Menus" to access a list of the items to appear on the Start menu (the drop-down menu). Select up to seven items by clicking the boxes next to each item.


If desired, select the "Large Start Menu" option to display a full screen Start menu for easy tapping.
