Homemade Lens Cleaner

Keeping eyeglass lenses in good condition is important to protecting your investment.

Eyeglasses are a financial investment. Using just any cloth or cleanser to clean smudges away from your eyeglass lenses isn't recommended. You don't want to take a chance on scratching or damaging the lenses. The ingredients for a homemade lens cleaner are usually readily available in your own kitchen cabinets. Commercial lens cleaners are much more expensive and time-consuming, if you must travel to the optometrist to purchase them. Making your own homemade lens cleaner is easy.

Instructions

1. Pour rubbing alcohol in the bowl. Fill the bowl about 3/4 deep.

2. Add clean water to the bowl, filling the bowl to the top.

3. Add a few drops of a quality dishwashing liquid to the mixture. Stir gently with the spoon.

4. Dip the eyeglasses into the bowl. Gently swirl them around in the mixture by holding them by the arms.

5. Wipe the lenses dry with the soft cotton cloth.
