Eject the SD card from the camera and place it into a computer.
You shouldn't despair if your memorable digital photos are missing from your SD card. You often can recover missing photos by using a file recovery programs for the PC. You need a computer to perform this operation because it cannot be done on a digital camera.
Instructions
1. Open EASEUS Deleted File Recovery, a free program available online (see Resources). Open your SD card, then scroll through the thumbnails of deleted pictures. Click on the images you want and press "Restore."
2. You can recover your precious shots with Recuva, a free download (see Resources). After installing the program, open the SD card with the drive selection tool at the top of the program. Select the pictures that you want to recover and click "Restore."
3. You can recover missing photos with eIMAGE Recovery (see Resources). Download and install the software, which is capable of recovering formatted and deleted pictures. As of July 2010, the program costs $27. It can recover files that have been formatted several times.
