Plantronics Voyager 510 User Guide

The Plantronics Voyager 510 is a Bluetooth headset that is compatible with most Bluetooth-enabled phones. The device includes a noise-canceling microphone, wind-noise reduction technology and one-touch call control buttons. The Plantronics Voyager 510 can also be programmed for use with two Bluetooth devices simultaneously.

Know Your Voyager

The Plantronics Voyager 510 comes with the headset device and a charging cradle. The Speak Volume Major Adjust switch is located at the bottom of the cradle. The bottom of the cradle also includes the Handset Lifter, AC adapter jack and telephone cord jack. The top of the cradle houses the Call Control button and Talk Line Indicator Light. The front of the cradle has the Power Indicator light on the right, which should be red when active. The left light is the Charge Indicator, which shines amber. The left side of the cradle houses the Configuration Dial, while the right side houses the Handset Lifter switch. The back of the Voyager's cradle houses the Speak Volume Fine Adjust buttons and the Listen Volume Major Adjust switch.

The headset's volume is controlled by the (+) and (-) buttons on the ear of the device. Above the volume controls rests the Power/Mute button. The Status Indicator Light rests slightly above the microphone, and the Call Control Button is just a little farther up from the indicator light.

Connecting the Voyager

The Voyager can be connected in a few easy steps. The Voyager cradle, once connected, becomes the base of your phone. Connect the phone's receiver cord to the jack of the Voyager's cradle. Connect the AC adapter to the adapter jack in the cradle and then plug the adapter into the socket. The power indicator will display red. Connect the telephone cord to the telephone receiver jack. Before using the device, fully charge the headset by resting the headset into the charging cradle. The headset will be fully charged after three hours. A full charge is indicated when the Headset Indicator displays blue. It is recommended that the device rest at least 12 inches away from a computer system and at least six inches from the phone receiver to avoid noise and interference.

Using the Voyager

Press and hold the Power/Mute button for three seconds to turn the device on. The same step will power down the device. Place a test call and configure the device to your desktop phone. Turn the configuration dial through the four available positions until you find the one that provides the best sound quality. Adjust the Listen Volume Adjust button and the Speak Volume Fine Adjust buttons to settings that are comfortable for you and the listening party.

Pairing Your Voyager

The Plantronics Voyager 510 can be used along with your Bluetooth-compatible cell phone. To utilize this option, you must pair the Voyager with your cell phone. Turn on your cell phone. Change your Voyager's status to pairing mode by pressing and holding the Listen Volume Adjust Button (+) and the Call Control Button simultaneously for two seconds. The Indicator Light will flash red and then blue. Locate the Bluetooth audio device in your phone that states "PLT 510." The cell phone will request a passkey or pin number. Enter: 0000. The phone will complete the pairing process. Once complete, the headset's Status Indicator light will flash blue.
