Instructions


1. First, open your internet browser. Type "http://www.mptrim.com" in the top address bar of the browser to download the free song trimming software. This software enables you to trim a song to the size of a ringtone. On the left side of the browser's screen, you will see a list of several different links. Click "mpTrim 2.13" to begin the software download. The "File Download" page will appear and prompt you to choose whether you would like to open or save the application. Click "Save" to store the application on your computer for later use. The Windows Security popup screen will appear to allow you to download the application. Click "Allow" to continue.


2. Click on the "mpTrim" link listed in the Windows Explorer pane that will load automatically once the application download is complete. The "Compressed (zipped) Folder" popup screen will appear. Click "Extract All" to run the application. The Windows Explorer screen will load again with the "mpTrim" icon. Click run and the application screen will appear.


3. Click "open" on the application's menu bar to load the song you would like to trim. When the song loads, you will see the sections "from the beginning" and "from the end." Use these two sections to position the song's beginning and end points for cutting. When you have finished cutting the song the way you want it, click "Save As." Locate the form bar at the bottom of the Windows Explorer pane to change the file format. Save the file as a .mp3 or .wav, depending on the type of Nextel phone you have.


4. Go back to your internet browser. In the address bar, type "www.sprintusers.com." This site is compatible with Nextel phones because the carrier is now owned by Sprint. Scroll down to the menu in the middle of the page.








5. Click "Focus Uploader" to begin transferring the song file to your mobile phone. You will see a form at the bottom of the page that you will need to fill out. Click the "Browse" button to insert the song file you want to upload to your phone. Enter the title of the song and your mobile number. This site is secure so you will not receive unwanted text messages or charges as a result of using this uploader. This uploader is free of charge.


6. Click the "Upload and Send" button when you have completed the form data. You will then receive a text message on your phone. Open the message and click on the internal link in the text message. Your mobile browser will automatically open. Your mobile security notification will appear and ask if you would like to "Allow" or "Deny" the file download access to your mobile phone. Click "Allow" to begin downloading the ringtone file. When the download is complete, click "Save" to store the file to your phone. The ringtone will automatically store in the correct folder on your phone.


7. Go to the media folder on your phone. Click the "Ringtones" or "Mobile Downloads" folder in your phone. This title will vary according to your phone's model. Click the "Option Menu" on the ringtone and "Assign" the ringtone so it will ring.
