Remove The Battery From A Mio Gps

Having a mobile GPS in your car, like a Mio GPS, can be helpful, but it won't do much good without a functional battery. The battery in a Mio GPS can't be accessed via a compartment, so some disassembly of the unit is required to access and remove a nonfunctioning battery. The good news is that this can be completed in a matter of minutes.

Instructions

1. Turn off your Mio GPS and turn the unit over. Remove the two rubber pads from the bottom corners of the unit to expose two screws.

2. Use your screwdriver to remove the screws and set them aside.

3. Use your fingers to pry the back half of the case from the front. Work your way around the sides until the two halves separate. Set the back half aside.

4. Locate the square battery on top of the main circuit board. It is connected to the board via a thin cable. Remove the tape covering the cable where it connects to the circuit board.

5. Unplug the battery cable from its port on the circuit board and remove the battery itself.
