Make Sure Your Mobile Phone Isn'T A Spy Camera

Make Sure Your Mobile Phone Isn't a Spy Camera

The convenience of a mobile phone carries with it a problem; unscrupulous individuals strive to access the functions in order to spy on what you are saying, what you are doing and where you are. Make sure your cell phone's built-in camera is not being used to spy on you and transmit video by making a few adjustments to how the mobile phone works. The cell phone will not be harmed in any way and the minor inconveniences will be more than made up for by the peace of mind of knowing that its camera is not being used against you.

Instructions

1. Press the "Menu" button on the cell phone. Maneuver to the "Settings" screen. Select "Network" from the list of choices presented on the screen. If your phone is Wi-Fi equipped, select "Wi-Fi" from the list of connection choices. Choose "Ask to Join Network" or "Don't Join Network Automatically." Press the "Menu" or "Home" button to exit "Settings," and save your settings if prompted to do so. This will allow you to control when your phone is sending or receiving Wi-Fi data.

2. Press the "Menu" button again. Maneuver to the "Settings" screen. Navigate to "Security Password" or "Passcode Lock." Enter a password into the "Password" text field. Enter the password again in the "Verification" text field. Select the "OK" button on the pop-up window to make it go away. Press the "Menu" or "Home" button to exit "Settings."

3. Tear off a small square of masking tape. Place the masking tape over the hole on the mobile phone that the camera's lens looks through. Smooth the masking tape down with your finger. Remove the masking tape when you want to use the camera on the cell phone; replace the masking tape when you are not using the camera on the cell phone.
