Create A Photo Montage Using Flash

Create a Photo Montage Using Flash

Creating an animated slideshow in Flash is both easy and fun--you don't have to know anything about code programming knowledge. You can do it all using keyframes and Motion Tweens, with as many photos as you wish, and the end result will be something you can proudly display on your website or share with your friends.

Instructions

1. In the Modify menu, select "Document." Set the pixel sizes to the aspect ratio of your finished project.

2. In the file menu, select "Import to Library." Select the photos that will be part of your slideshow, and import them. Make sure the Library window is visible.

3. Add the first photo to the first frame in layer one. With the photo selected, select "Convert to Symbol" in the Insert menu. Name the symbol "Photo 1." Name the layer "Photo 1."

4. Insert keyframes in Layer 1 at Frames 10, 30 and 40. Select the photo on the stage at frames 1 and 40 and change the alpha to 0% using the Properties window. The image at these frames should become invisible.

5. Insert a Motion Tween between frames 1 and 10, and also between frames 30 and 40. Do this by clicking on any frame within and selecting "Create Motion Tween" from the Insert menu. If you've done this correctly, solid straight lines will appear through all frames between 1 and 10, as well as between 30 and 40.

6. Insert a new layer, and call it "Photo 2." Repeat the process above with your second photo, but begin on frame 30 instead of frame 1. So, your keyframes should be at frames 30 and 40, and also at 60 and 70. Repeat this process on a new layer for each photo you wish to add to the slideshow.

7. Once all of your photos have been added, select the last keyframe of the last photo. In the "Actions" window, enter the Actionscript code (gotoAndPlay(1). This will create a permanent loop in the animation. Save and publish your slideshow.
