Types Of Video Camera Lenses

There are lenses that are permanently attached to a camera, and those that are interchangeable. The following information will give you an idea of when the interchangeable lenses are used. Whether you want to get close-up to your subject or shoot at a distance, there is a lens capable of handling the job.

Aspheric Lenses

Aspheric lenses are used to capture pictures at short distance and help to refract light.

Pinhole

Pinhole lenses are usually used for security and surveillance purposes. They conveniently fit into small tubes, holes and small places.

Closeup

These lenses are used at short distances, usually for digital video and closeups.

Wide Angle

Wide angle lenses are great for taking pictures of landscapes and other types of pictures where the subjects are more broad, such as a line of people at a reunion or football game.

Fixed Lens

A fixed lens stays on a camera, and is usually the one that is purchased with a camera for general video capture.
