Back Up The Iphone 3g

IPhone 3G backups are created immediately after connecting the device to your computer, and they create a copy of your device's bookmarks, applications, contacts, calendar information and mail to a backup folder on your computer's hard drive. These backups are created in case the iPhone needs to be restored, and can be used in the iTunes program on your Mac or PC. The backups are organized by date and time, and remain on your computer until they are manually removed.

Instructions

1. Connect the iPhone 3G to your computer via the device's USB cable.

2. Start iTunes, and select "iPhone" or your device's name in the "Devices" section of iTunes.

3. Click the checkbox next to "Encrypt iPhone backup." Create a password in the password field to encrypt your iPhone backup's information.

4. Right-click the name of the device and click "Back Up" on the shortcut menu. For Macintosh computers hold the "Control" key on the Mac keyboard and click the name of the device to display the shortcut menu.

5. Right-click the iPhone's icon and click "Eject" from the shortcut menu to remove the iPhone 3G from your computer.
