Standard Height Of A Bathroom Sink

Bathroom sinks vary in height.

Bathroom sinks and vanities are undergoing a mini-revolution. The once-standard height of bathroom sinks is changing to adapt to and better serve people's needs. As a result, there is no longer any single standard height for bathroom sinks.

The Old Standard

The standard height for bathroom sinks used to be 30 inches. Vanities were built at 28-1/2 inches and a 1-1/2-inch countertop with sink was added on top. These 30-inch-high vanities and sinks are still available and many people find them preferable. However, they are not the only option available now.

Newer Options

Bathroom vanity cabinets come in various heights, from 30 inches to 36 inches tall. A common new height is 34 inches. Custom-built vanities can be made to any height that is most comfortable for the user.

Pedestal Sinks

Pedestal sinks are not as easily modified as bathroom vanities. The height of a pedestal sink is also dependent on the manufacturer or style but it usually ranges from 29 inches to 33 inches.
