Bissell Flipit Vs Hoover Floormate

There never seems to be enough time in the day to complete all of your cleaning tasks and work and take of your family, too. Two-in-one mops and floor cleaners can save time because they are actually two appliances in one. Here, a look at a couple of popular models.

Significance

Two such products for cleaning hard floors are the Bissell Flip-It and Hoover FloorMate. In vacuum mode, they pick up crumbs, dirt, and pet hair. Turn them over, and they become wet mops that use vacuum power to dry your hard floors immediately.

Similarities

Both models have several similarities. They each have a trigger application for the cleaning solution in the wet mop mode. Both come with a brush for deep cleaning between tiles and on grout. In addition, each has a cleaning pad for light cleaning. The brush and pad are machine washable, so you save money by buying replacements less often. Both models also have one for clean water and one for dirty water, so you can see the dirt being picked up, not simply redistributed on your floors, as with a mop.

Differences

The Hoover FloorMate has rotating brushes on the head with a removable squeegee for use in the wet cleaning mode. These do the scrubbing for you. The FloorMate also has an accessory kit with an attachment hose, extension wand, grout tool, and grout brush. The Bissell Flip-It has neither of these features.

Size

The Flip-It is 31.5 inches tall, 9 inches wide. and 12.9 inches deep. It weighs about 10 pounds. The FloorMate is 44 inches tall, 11.25 inches wide, and 7.5 inches deep, and is about 50 percent heavier at 14.40 pounds. Each model is small, which makes them better able to reach tight areas, such as behind the toilet. Each is also compact, requiring limited storage space.

Considerations

The Hoover FloorMate costs about 20 percent more than the Bissell Flip-It, but it carries a three-year warranty; the Flip-It only has a one-year warranty. The FloorMate's extra cleaning accessories are also a consideration when choosing between these two models.
