Repair A Samson Wireless Aerobics Microphone

Samson's line of wireless microphone systems is the ideal choice for professionals, such as aerobics instructors, who require the use of a microphone but who also need the use of both hands, thereby preventing them from holding a traditional microphone. The Samson headset with attached microphone picks up audio signals and broadcasts them wirelessly to the Samson wireless receiver, allowing for full freedom of movement while using the microphone. If you encounter any technical problems while using the microphone, it is possible to resolve some them on your own rather than having the microphone serviced or replacing it altogether.

Instructions

1. Disable muting if you do not hear any signal from the microphone. Even if the transmitter unit is powered on, if muted it will not send any audio signals to the wireless receiver. Right next to the word "mute" there is an arrow pointing to the left; move the switch away from the direction of the arrow to turn off the muting feature and check the microphone again to see if it transmits any signals.

2. Replace the batteries in the transmitter unit if you still do not hear a signal after ensuring that the transmitter is not muted. The transmitter fits a standard AAA battery in the battery compartment. The battery compartment cover can be removed by hand by applying gentle pressure to the Samson logo on the transmitter unit.

3. Remove or power down any audio and/or video equipment near the transmitter or receiver that may cause interference. The Samson wireless microphone system operates on RF frequencies, so any equipment installed near the transmitter or receiver that uses RF frequencies (such as RF remote controls or wireless speaker systems) could cause audible humming, buzzing or popping while you are using the microphone. Temporarily turn off the devices or remove them for testing purposes and check the microphone again to see if the signal is clearer. If it is, place either the interfering equipment or the Samson system in a location so that RF interference is no longer an issue.
