Share A Printer With An Android Phone

Your Android phone is capable of connecting with a variety of Google services. One little-known feature is the phone's ability to send output to a printer connected to your desktop or laptop computer. Using Google's Cloud Print service and the Cloud Print app from the Android Market, you can access the printer on your computer system and print directly from your Android phone no matter where you are.

Instructions

Set up Cloud Print Inside Chrome

1. Start the Google Chrome Web browser.

2. Click the "wrench" icon at the top-right corner of the screen. Click "Options."

3. Move to the "Under the Hood" tab.

4. Click the button labeled "Sign in to Google Cloud Print."

5. Sign in with your Google email address and password.

Download the Cloud Print App

6. Open the Android Market app.

7. Tap the "magnifying glass" icon and type "Cloud Print." Tap "Go."

8. Tap on "Cloud Print" in the search results to open the application's details page.

Share your Printer to your Android Phone

10. Start the Cloud Print app on your Android phone.

11. Tap on the same Google account you used to sign in to Cloud Print in the Chrome browser.

12. Exit the application. You have now shared your printer to your Android phone using Google Cloud Print. Any application with a "Share" menu can share items to Cloud Print. The item will then be sent to your printer and printed.
