Many vehicles only have one auxiliary input (or none at all) which makes having multiple audio peripherals cumbersome. If you want to listen to your XM or MP3 player, you may have to switch out cables which can be dangerous when driving. Luckily, many XM tuners now come with an extra auxiliary audio input to help solve this problem and make driving safer.
Instructions
1. Set up and install the XM radio car receiver according to the manufacturer's instructions. Plug one of the auxiliary cables into the "audio out" jack on the receiver and the other end into the "auxiliary in" jack on the stereo. If the car has no auxiliary jack, you can use the cassette tape input which comes with the car receiver.
2. Plug one end of an auxiliary sound cable into the "auxiliary in" jack in the XM receiver. Plug the other end of the cable into the MP3 player or other sound peripheral.
3. Turn the vehicle and the XM receiver on. Set your car stereo to the auxiliary sound (or tape) input to hear the XM radio. Set the XM receiver to the Auxiliary sound input.
4. Turn the MP3 player or other sound peripherial on. The sound should now be coming from the peripheral, through the XM, and out from the car speakers
