Print A Nozzle Check Pattern On A Canon Pixma Pm970 Printer

Canon Pixma MP970 Series Printer

The Canon PIXMA MP970 All-in-One inkjet printer’s advanced technology makes it easy for home or business users to preview, scan, copy and print documents and photographs. It’s fast, too. This All-in-One only takes 35 seconds to print a 4-by-6 inch photo. The printer’s 7-color ink system produces photos that are richer and more life-like than most standard 4-color systems. But sometimes the printing may become faint or the colors may not appear correct. If ink remains in the ink tanks, the most likely culprit is a clogged print head nozzle. The first step to resolving this problem is to print a nozzle check pattern.

Instructions

1. Insure the printer is turned on. If the power light is not on, check to see that the power cable is plugged into a working electrical outlet. Press the "On/Off" button located in the upper left-hand corner of the operations panel to turn the power on. Open the sheet feed cover on the rear paper tray. Pull the paper support straight up to its fully extended position.

2. Open the paper output tray located on the center front of the printer by pulling down and toward you. Flip the paper output tray extension out. Load the stack of paper media into the rear paper tray. Align the paper against the cover guide on the right side of the paper tray. Slide the paper guide to the right until it is snug against the left side of the paper.

3. Press the "Home" button on the control panel. The Home screen will be displayed on the LCD panel. Press the "Up" or "Down" arrow button to scroll through the menu. Select the "Settings" options; press the "OK" button. Select the "Maintenance" option; press "OK." Select the "Nozzle check pattern" option and press the "OK" button.

4. Wait for the confirmation screen to be displayed on the LCD panel. Select the "Yes" option and press "OK." Wait while the printer prints the nozzle check pattern.

5. Compare the printed patterns with the display on the LCD panel. Select the patterns on the LCD that most closely matches the patterns on the printed page. The printer will make the necessary adjustments to the nozzle pattern based on your input.
