Choose A Satellite Tv Provider

If your cable rates have gone up again, the service and programming may no longer provide the best value for your entertainment dollar. It might be time to choose one of the two major satellite TV provider: DirecTV and DISH Network. Compare both services to make sure you're getting the most for your money. Follow these steps to find out how.

Instructions

1. Figure out what packages are available for you. Sometimes these companies have specials for first-time buyers. Find out if they do by visiting their websites (see Resources below).

2. Take a look at the packages they offer on their sites. Compare them to see which appears to be the best value for you. Pay attention to low introductory packages that raise prices considerably after a predetermined period of time.

3. Read the fine print on the packages that you're considering and see what those rates will be after the introductory period is over. Often, providers will drastically lower the prices to hook you in and later hike up the prices significantly.

4. Read online customer reviews about both providers. Choose the one with the highest rating. You can read what customers have to say about both providers online (see Resources below).

5. Choose the satellite TV provider that best fits your needs and budget.

6. Find a local dealer in your area that can set up the service for you. Learn what their fees are along with what the satellite TV provider will charge. You can find dealers in the local yellow pages.

7. Set up an appointment to have your satellite TV service installed. When they come to install it, make sure that you walk around your property with them to determine the best place for antenna placement. They will discuss the options with you and tell you the pros and cons of each location.
