Increase The Battery Life On A Verizon Lg Phone

The battery life on a Verizon LG phone is usually the most important feature—after all, reduced battery life means that you won’t be able to use all of the features on your phone all of the time. And no one wants to be on that oh-so-important conference call only to hear those telltale Verizon chimes, indicating that your phone is shutting down. Luckily, there are a few steps you can take to maximize and increase the battery life on your phone.

Instructions

1. Keep your phone turned off when you’re not using it. This sounds obvious, but people tend to leave their phone on the charger instead of turning it off. See Step 6 for why this isn’t a good idea. If you have a land line, use your phone only when you leave the house.

2. Keep your phone turned off when you can’t use it—like when you’re out of range. If your phone is constantly searching for a range it can use, your battery will drain much more rapidly than when it’s just on idle. Save yourself the headache and switch it off.

3. Shut off the backlight on your phone, or reduce the amount of time it is turned on. To do this, open the phone and click the “Menu” button. The center keypad above the numerical keys can click up, down, left and right. Click right until you see the “Settings & Tools” option. Click “Display Settings.” Click “Backlight.” Click “Display.” Click “Main Backlight.” Select how long you wish the backlight to remain on for—the less amount of time, the better, or you can turn it off completely here. Click “OK.”

4. Don’t use the camera on your phone. Taking and storing pictures (especially the storing) can drain your battery. Resist taking that millionth picture of your cat and pick up a digital camera instead—photo resolutions are notoriously low on camera phones anyway.

5. Don’t use the video feature, if you have one, and don’t accept video messages from your friends. Also avoid downloading any games or videos because they are notorious battery-suckers.

6. Keep your cellphone charging when you can, but don’t leave it plugged in all night. Keeping your phone plugged into the wall non-stop actually reduces your battery life. Once your phone indicates that it is fully charged, remove it from the charger.
