Remove A Yaesu Ft450 Power Cable

The Yaesu FT-450 is a compact radio transceiver that features a nine-segment LCD display, 400 MHz digital signal processor, a memory capacity for up to 500 channels, computer interface connection and options for the visually impaired. The Yaesu FT-450 can be powered by an external 13.8V power supply capable of delivering 22 amps. You also have the option to power your Yaesu FT-450 with your vehicle's 12V system by way of a cigarette lighter adapter or hardwiring the transceiver directly to your vehicle's battery.

Instructions

1. Turn off your Yaesu FT-450 radio transceiver.

2. Turn off the AC power supply connected to your radio transceiver. Disconnect the negative battery terminal of your vehicle if the transceiver is hardwired to your vehicle's electrical system. If the radio transceiver is connected to your vehicle via cigarette lighter adapter, disconnect the cigarette lighter adapter from the vehicle.

3. Locate the positive and negative power terminals on your AC power supply. Remove the positive and negative leads for your Yaesu FT-450 from the AC power supply terminals by unscrewing each terminal counterclockwise, using your fingers.

4. Remove the power cable connection harness plugged into the rear of your radio transceiver. You will need to depress the small locking tab located on top of the wiring harness connector while pulling the connector out the radio transceiver. If the transceiver wiring harness is hardwired to your vehicle's electrical system, locate the spliced wire connection used to tie into the vehicle and remove the wiring leading to the transceiver.
