Tint A Cable Box Light

A small strip of tint can elimate a distracting bright cable box light and improve your TV viewing.

Having a cable box in the same room you sleep in may cause a distraction if the light is bright. If the light is keeping you awake at night, there's a simple solution. A little strip of the same type of tinting that goes on car and house windows will work perfectly to dim down your cable box light.

Instructions

1. Unplug your cable box.

2. Clean off the area you wish to tint using a slightly damp cloth and soap.

3. Dry the area with a paper towel and ensure no bits of paper come off. You want the area to be completely clean.

4. Wet the area of the cable box light again using only water.

5. Cut a piece of tint to the dimensions of the area you want to cover and take off the liner. Wet the entire area of the tint on the side you want to connect to the cable box.

6. Apply the tint to the cable box and use a hard card, such as a credit card, to smooth out the tint and remove water. Don't press too hard until you're sure the tint is securely in place.

7. Plug in your cable box.
