Tell If I Have Tomtom One 2nd Or 3rd Edition

The TomTom ONE global positioning system has been updated three separate times in its history. These updates have been referred to as the "First Edition," "Second Edition" and "Third Edition." Each edition features new and additional utilities that were not present in the last, like access to more satellites that can determine your exact position with greater accuracy. You can quickly find out which edition you own by looking in a very specific place.

Instructions

1. Locate the manual that came with your TomTom ONE. Flip to the "Technical Specifications" page and look for a reference to an "SD Card." The TomTom ONE Second Edition stores maps and traffic data on a small flash memory card called an SD card. The TomTom ONE Third Edition stores this information on an internal storage drive.

2. Look at the label on the bottom of your GPS. If you have a TomTom ONE Third Edition, the words "Third Edition" will appear beneath the TomTom ONE logo. These words do not appear on the TomTom ONE Second Edition label.

3. Look around the sides of your TomTom ONE for a USB cable connector. The TomTom ONE Second Edition has a full-sized USB cable connector, while the TomTom ONE Third Edition has a MiniUSB cable connector.
