Find Gps Location On Garmin

When you are driving in an unfamiliar area, you may find yourself wondering where you are, where the nearest restaurant is or even what your elevation measures. If you have a Garmin GPS, you can use it to answer these questions. Depending on the model of your Garmin GPS, access to this feature varies. But you always have to turn your GPS on and wait for it to acquire satellite before it can determine your location.








Instructions


1. Touch "Tools" from the main menu and select the "Where Am I" tab. A map opens up and different categories (restaurants, hotels, hospitals) sthe right of the screen. Touch the category of your choice to view the nearest locations near you. Click "Save Location" to have your Garmin GPS store your current location for later use.








2. Click on "My Locations" from the "Where To" menu and select "My Current Location" tab. Garmin shows you the coordinates and elevation of you current location. Click on "Show Map" to see a map of your current location. To save your current location, touch "Save."


3. Touch the icon that indicates the location of your vehicle on the map page. This may be a vehicle icon, an arrow or something else you customized. Garmin shows you your current location and asks if you want to save it. Once you save your current location, you can find it later under "Favorites."
