Infocus In72 Won'T Power Up

The InFocus IN72 projector is capable of projecting images from a variety of connected sources, including computers and cable boxes. An IN72 that won't power up might be suffering from a power connection problem or is overheating because of blocked vents. Sometimes the InFocus needs a new projection lamp. Before replacing the lamp, make sure the IN72 is connected to a reliable power source and the vents are not blocked.

Instructions

Replacing the IN72's Projection Lamp

1. Purchase a new InFocus IN72 lamp. The lamp can be purchased directly from InFocus or another retailer.

2. Turn off the IN72 and let it cool for at least one hour. Unplug it from the power outlet and remove the power cable.

3. Disconnect all cables from the device. If the projector is mounted to the ceiling, detach it from the ceiling.

4. Lay down a soft cloth, and lay the InFocus IN72 upside down on the cloth so the projector door is facing you.

5. Remove three screws to the base or ceiling mount plate, if attached, with a Phillips screwdriver.

6. Push the two tabs on the lamp door toward the front of the projector. Lift up the lamp door and remove it.

7. Remove three screws that attach the lamp housing to the projector with the Phillips screwdriver. Be careful when removing the lamp housing so the bulb doesn't break.

8. Remove the old lamp housing.

9. Place the new lamp housing in the correct position and tighten it in place with its three screws.

10. Attach the lamp connector to the projector. Make sure to push the tabs to lock them in place.

11. Replace the lamp door, and screw the base or ceiling mount back in place, if applicable.

12. Plug in the IN72 to the power outlet. Turn the IN72 right side up. Press "Power" on the top of the projector or remote to make sure the projector is operating correctly.
