Install A Lens Filter

Adding a filter to your lens can change the look of your images.

Camera lenses come in a variety of shapes and sizes, all of which can be modified by employing filters. A filter can change the way the light enters through the lens by making it darker or giving it a blue tint, for example. You can install a lens filter in less than a minute to create these, and many other, effects.

Instructions

1. Remove the lens cap. Spray the end of the lens with the air spray, then clean the lens surface with a microfiber towel if any remaining dirt or grime is present.

2. Take the lens filter out of its case. Clean both sides of the filter using the air spray and the microfiber towel if necessary.

3. Hold the lens filter by the sides with the threaded end towards the lens. Screw the lens filter onto the lens by twisting it clockwise on the lens itself, making sure to touch only the sides of the filter to avoid getting it dirty. Stop turning the lens once it can't twist any further. Reinstall the lens cap until you're ready to shoot.
