Sony DVD camcorders allow users to edit without using a computer.
A standard way to share video is to record it on a camcorder, copy it to a computer, edit it and burn it onto a DVD. The use of multiple devices can take time and make the procedure too difficult for some consumers. The ability to record video, burn it onto a DVD and share it with friend and family without a computer is the major benefit of the Sony DVD camcorders. Its touch-screen controls and menu system allows for editing as well.

Edit on a Sony DVD Camcorder
1. Divide movies that are recorded onto the DVD before it is burned. Touch the "Home" button, select "Others," and then choose "Edit." Touch "Divide" on the LCD screen and select the movie you want to playback. Play the movie to the scene where you want to divide it and pause it. Select the dividing point and touch "OK" and when "Completed" pops up touch "OK" to complete the division.
2. Create a playlist of the movie sections to burn the DVD in the order you want it. At the "Home" menu select "Others" and then "Playlist Edit." Touch the "Add" option and select the movie you want added to the playlist. The selected scene will be checked and then touch the return option. Press "OK" and then "Completed" to confirm the selection.
3. Add all the movies to the playlist instead of choosing only a few. In the "Others" menu, touch "Add All," then touch "Yes," and when the "Completed" box appears, select "OK." To add all movies by date in the "Others" menu, select "Add by Date." Choose the date by scrolling up and down, then confirm the choices by returning to the previous screen.
4. Delete unnecessary movies from the playlist by touching "Home" then "Others" and then choosing the "Playlist Edit" option. To erase all movies, select the "Erase All" option. Erase individual movies by touching the movie on the displayed playlist.
5. To change the order of the movies on the playlist, go to the "Playlist Edit" screen and touch "Movie." Select the movie you want to move then touch "OK" and return to the previous screen. Select the destination by selecting left or right and press "OK" when the movie is in the right place.
