Reduce Dry Red Eyes

Dry, red eyes is a common occurrence for many individuals and can be caused by allergies or natural irritants. There are relatively easy and inexpensive ways to combat this problem.

Instructions

1. Visit your eye doctor. If dry and red eyes is a persistent occurrence, a licensed doctor will be able to determine the cause and the proper and most effective treatment.

2. Use artificial tears. Over-the-counter artificial tears can be used whenever symptoms of eye irritation occur. Use of artificial tears can temporarily reduce the effects of dry and red eyes.

3. Wear sunglasses outdoors. Wearing sunglasses reduces exposure to sun, wind and dust. All three environmental factors may cause dry eyes and irritation.

4. Purchase and use an air filter and humidifier for your home. The air filter and humidifier can eliminate current conditions in your home that may be causing your eye irritation. Your eyes are most comfortable in an indoor environment that is moist and free of air pollutants.
