The Canon A720 has a built-in memory slot that is compatible with SD memory cards as well as other formats. A 16MB SD card is included with purchase of the camera, but it is capable of holding only three large-resolution pictures, so upgrading to a larger SD card is recommended as there is no built-in memory.
Storage
According to Image-Resourcing.com, a 512MB SD card will hold approximately 140 images and around four minutes of video.
Capacity
The largest sizes available are 32GB cards, which are able to hold approximately 8,750 photos and cost roughly $80 as of September 2009.
Location
The slot for memory cards is located in the same compartment that houses the camera's batteries.
Compatibility
The camera is also compatible with SD/SDHC, MultiMediaCard (MMC), MMC Plus and HC MMC Plus type memory cards.
Considerations
The manufacturer and Image-Resourcing.com suggest an upgraded card with 1GB to 2GB of memory for most users.
