The Memory Stick Duo shrunk the older memory stick format to a much smaller size. As Sony phases out the older memory stick format, older products that only accepted the larger memory stick can use the new format with an easy-to-use media adapter.

Using the Memory Stick Duo Adaptor
1. When purchasing a Memory Stick Duo, ensure that it comes with a Memory Stick Adapter. Often, Sony bundles the Duo and the adapter together. While you may not have a product that accepts the Memory Stick, be prepared to have one handy for when you need it.
2. To insert the Memory Stick Duo into the adapter, insert the card into the adapter, ensuring that the metal contacts on the Duo are aligned the same way as on the adapter.
3. After inserting the Memory Stick Duo, simply insert the adapter into your device as if it was a regular memory stick. There should be a small click if inserted properly.
4. To remove the adapter from your device, simply eject the Memory Stick adapter as you would a regular Memory Stick.
5. To remove the Memory Stick Duo from the adapter, find the edge with a small indent. Using your fingernails, gently remove the card. Some adapters may require you to push in and then remove.
