Sometimes, when you are working on another computer through a remote access connection, you need to take a screenshot of a computer error or specific issue so that you can research the issue further. You can do this quickly and easily by using tools that are already built into your Windows operating system. A screenshot can be saved as an image file to your computer for future reference.
Instructions
1. Log into the remote computer using your remote access software.
2. Save an image of the remote computer's desktop by pressing the "Prt Scr" (Print Screen) button on your keyboard.
3. Minimize the remote access window to return to your own desktop.
4. Click on the "Start" button to pull up the start menu and select "Programs."
5. Navigate to "Accessories" and click on the "Paint" icon. This will launch the Microsoft Paint program.
6. Click the "Paste" button from the Paint menu or press the "Ctrl" and "V" buttons on your keyboard at the same time. This will paste the screenshot image that you took from the remote computer into the Paint window.
7. Choose "Save" from the Paint toolbar to save the image from the remote computer for future reference.
