As with any other storage device, SD cards come with their own set of errors. One common error is the "Format SD card" message that you get when inserting the card into your PC. At times, the card may work fine, but if any surface scratch appears, you may get this error. In order to use the SD card you must click "OK." You may notice that your files have been deleted afterwards. If this happens, don't worry, you will be able to recover your files.

SD cards are used to store multimedia, documents and program files. You can purchase them in storage sizes from 512MB to 32GB, and in three sizes: standard, micro and mini. When you open your SD card, you will only be able to see the files that you saved--you will not be able to see the ghosts files that are written into the SD card. Any file that was saved to an SD card can be recovered using an SD card recovery program. No matter the size of the file or file type, the SD recovery program will be able to restore it. However, if you have saved files to your SD card after the others disappeared you will not be able to recover the deleted files.
