Plasma, LCD and DLP televisions deliver amazing picture quality for home use. They are capable of producing a full HD picture of a 1080p resolution. Video only accounts for a portion of the home theater experience though. Imagine the movies Star Wars, Jaws and Top Gun without their soundtrack. While they might still be good movies, the audio greatly enhances them. Home theater audio systems don't necessarily need to be extravagant or complicated to reproduce what producers want you to hear. Samsung's HT-TXQ120 Home Theater System is one such system and you don't even have to run wires all around your room with the wireless option.
Instructions
1. Open all packaging and ensure you have all parts that should be in the boxes. There should be six separate speaker wires, four speakers with stands and bases, sub-woofer and DVD player head unit with stand and base complete with cable to connect head unit to sub-woofer in the HT-TXQ120 box. There should be a wireless interface card and wireless receiver in the SWA3000 wireless kit box.
2. Look on the back of each speaker to determine the location it will go. The label will read "Front Left" for the speaker that should be placed in the front left of the audio system. Set each speaker in the general area that it will be set up. There are four stands that are used for speakers that will not be marked and one stand that will be clearly marked for the DVD head unit. The sub-woofer will need to be close to the DVD head unit. Place the labeled speaker wires in the general area of the speakers that they correspond to.
3. Assemble the stand for the DVD player head unit. Screw the pole piece of the stand into the circular base. Be careful not to scratch the glossy black coating on the top of the base.
4. Assemble each speaker stand and place each speaker on its corresponding stand. They will be built in the same manner as the DVD head unit was.
5. Plug the sub-woofer into a standard power outlet.
6. Place the wireless interface card into the sub-woofer into the designated spot.
7. Hook up the thick cable that will connect the DVD head unit to the sub-woofer. Run the cable through the wire channel in the stand of the DVD head unit to reduce the visibility of the cable.
8. Hook the center channel and two front speakers into the sub-woofer with each corresponding speaker wire.
9. Plug in the wireless receiver into a standard power outlet in the rear of the room. It should be about halfway in between each of the rear speakers.
10. Hook up the rear speakers to the wireless receiver unit using the supplied speaker wire into each corresponding spot.
11. Connect the DVD head unit to the TV with an HDMI cable. Make sure you have the HDMI cable plugged into the "Output" on the DVD head unit. Note what HDMI input you have plugged the home theater system into on the TV.
12. Turn on the DVD head unit, wireless receiver and TV. Set TV to correct HDMI input.
13. Put in a DVD to the home theater system to ensure everything is hooked up correctly.
