Panasonic Lumix Tz1 Troubleshooting

The Panasonic Lumix TZ1 is a 5 megapixel compact digital camera released in 2006. The camera has several features for high quality and creative photographs and works well on most occasions. If the Lumix TZ1 does not work properly, troubleshoot and fix the problem yourself and avoid the time and cost of bringing it to a service technician.

Power Problems

There may be occasions when you turn on the power but it doesn't come on or it does come on but none of the buttons work. When this occurs, check that the battery is in the battery chamber on the bottom of the camera and that it is inserted properly. Be careful when inserting the battery as you may damage the camera if it is inserted incorrectly.

If the battery is in the Lumix TZ1 but the camera will not operate, you need to charge the battery. The battery in the Lumix TZ1 needs is charged on a separate charger that plugs directly into a power outlet. To charge the battery, take the battery out of the battery chamber on the bottom of the camera and place it in the charger. The battery terminals should face down and the arrow on the top of the battery should face the left of the charger. Plug it into the wall to start charging. The charging is complete once the indicator light on the charger turns off.

Pictures Do Not Record

Digital camera memory cards have a finite amount of space. The amount of pictures you can store on a memory card varies according to the size of the memory card, the resolution of the image and the compression method used for storing the image. If you are unable to record your photographs on your memory card, there likely is not enough space remaining on the card. Delete some images from the Lumix TZ1 by entering playback mode, scrolling to the picture you want to delete, pressing the button with the trashcan symbol on it and confirming the deletion with the "Menu/Set" button.

Pictures Have White Haze

You may notice over time that your photographs have a white haze on them. This occurs when the dirt and grime buildup on the lens. To clean the lens, turn off the camera so the lens retract into the base of the camera. Wipe the lens with a dry cloth to remove any dirt buildup. Make sure the lens is retracted as it is more vulnerable when extended and may be damaged when cleaned.
