Use A Mobile Mate Sd Memory Card Reader

Many electronic items today use memory cards. Digital cameras, cell phones and even digital camcorders use memory cards. The SD, or San Disk, is the most common card for these devices and probably the cheapest to purchase. This article will explain how easy it is to use the SD memory cards and the SD MobileMate reader to transfer items from the memory card to your computer, or from your computer to the memory card.

Instructions

use an SD MobileMate memory card reader

1. Gather all the items needed, as specified above. You can upload or download photos and music from your cell phone to your computer. You can upload photos from digital cameras and from digital camcorders. Turn on your computer and allow it time to load all programs.

2. Remove the memory card from your cell phone or camera and place it in the appropriate slot in the MobileMate memory card reader. It can only be inserted one way, so you cannot make a mistake. Once the card is inserted into the reader, plug the reader (with the card in it) into the USB port on the computer. This can likewise only be inserted one way.

3. To upload to your computer, heed the following directions. On your monitor, there should be a window asking what action you would like to perform with the new hardware. Click on “View in a new window.” This will bring up a new window showing you two folders. One folder is the DCIM and the other one is MISC. Click on the DCIM folder. This will open a new window with a short name for the device you took the memory card out of. Click on that device, and your information should pop up in another window.

4. Remove the items from the memory card and place them on your computer by highlighting the item you want to remove and right-clicking on it. When the menu appears, click on "move" and then tell it where to move the item once the new window appears.

5. Placing music onto your cell phone is just as easy as removing it. On your computer, locate the music you would like to place on your cell phone. Make sure it is in the form of an MP3. Insert your memory card into the reader and insert the reader into the USB port on your computer.

6. Your computer should recognize this as a new "removable disk" and give it an alphabetical title, such as "E," "F," "G," "H," or so forth. Now drag and drop the title of the music you want to place on your cell phone to the new "removable disk" letter. Your computer will automatically transfer the information from your computer to the memory card.

7. Simply remove the reader, remove your card and replace the card in your cell phone. Your music is ready for you to listen to!
