Wire A House Speaker System

Wiring your house for speakers, depending on how many locations you to place speakers, can be anywhere from very easy to very hard. Use these steps to get the most out of your audio system and have your favorite song playing in every room of your home in no time.

Instructions

1. Connect your speaker selector to your receiver/tuner as per its directions. Speaker selectors typically come for four pairs, but if you want more than that, you can find six and eight pairs. Use the "B" speakers of your tuner; this will allow you to turn off these speakers if you want.

2. Measure the distance from the speaker selector to your first set of speakers. You may want to go through a wall, or you can simply run the wire along the base of the wall. Either way, leave 10 to 15 feet of slack at the end of the wire, in case you measured incorrectly or you want to move the speakers some day.

3. Cut the wire and insert one set of ends into the speaker selector. Insert the other set of ends into the speakers.

4. Use either your staple gun or the U-nails to secure the wire along the baseboards of your walls.

5. Repeat for each speaker pair.
