Recycle Coax Cable

Due to changes in your home or business you suddenly find yourself with an abundance in coax cable wire. This type of coated wire is used for transmitting communication signals in televisions, computer networks and analog telephones, and while it cannot be recycled alongside your glass and plastic bottles, many companies and recycling services will recycle coax wire. Some even offer cash for it. Call your local waste service or look up services through sites like Earth 911 for a recycling center or business near you.

Instructions

1. Find out if any companies or recycling services in your area buy or pick up coax cable wire to recycle. Earth 911.com is one resource for finding coax cable wire services near you. Also try calling your local waste service company or your State Department of Environmental Quality/Department of Environmental Protection (DEQ/DEP). Earth 911 offers such contact information for each state.

2. Make a list of services in your area if possible and call each one about pick-up and drop-off services for one that best suits your needs. Company or recycling service websites also generally provide such information. For example, Paper Dragon Recycling.com provides a list of Michigan counties it serves as well as a sign-up form for pick-up services.

3. Research companies and recycling programs that offer cash for wire. Distributor Wire and Cable Company in Aurora, Colorado, has a recycling program that includes dropping off coax cable wire for cash. Davis Recycling serves the Atlanta, Georgia, area and offers cash for recyclable materials, including coax cable wire.
