Make A Scented Oil Diffuser

Reed diffuser

You can make a scented oil diffuser from glass bottles, oil, and reeds. The reed soaks up the scented oil in the bottle and disperses it into the air. Using reed diffusers to make the room smell nice eliminates the fire risk associated with scented candles. Reed diffusers don't need supervision and give off scent constantly. Flipping the sticks every week or so can refresh the smell and keep the reeds soaking up oil properly.

Instructions

1. Rinse out the glass bottle to remove any dirt, dust, or debris. Let it dry.

2. Fill the bottle 3/4 full with fragrance or essential oil.

3. Insert the bamboo sticks. The reeds should be taller than the bottle.

4. Cut 5 to 8 strands of raffia. Lay the strands together so the ends are even. Wrap the raffia around the lip of the bottle and tie into a bow.

5. Set the reed diffuser on a flat surface. Remove the reeds after a week and turn them upside down. Repeat this about once a month.
