Instruction Manual For The Jensen Nvx200

The Jensen NVX200 Navigator is a mobile GPS device with features including an anti-glare touchscreen display with automatic day and night display mode, 2D and 3D map perspective, speed limit warning, pre-installed points of interest (POIs), and a built-in speaker for voice guidance navigation instructions. Other conveniences include a virtual keyboard and USB interface to connect the device to a computer. Though the NVX200 contains a wide variety of functions and options, it is designed to be simple to operate.

Instructions

1. Connect the USB adapter from its output jack to your computer to charge the battery, or use the power cable to connect it to an outside power supply. Insert the pre-programmed memory card into its slot on the right side of the unit if one was supplied.

2. Press the "Sleep/Wake" button on the top of the unit to power it on. When the main menu is shown on the display, tap the small satellite dish icon on the bottom left-hand side. The GPS data screen is displayed and shows if you are currently connected to a GPS receiver (as shown by a green light), or in one of the stages of attempting to establish a connection (dark, red or yellow light).

3. Tap the "Map" icon to bring up the map view that shows your current location and where you are headed. The map can either be in 2D (gives the appearance of reading a map) or 3D (simulating the view through the windshield). Switch between the two by tapping the "Tilt Up" or "Tilt Down" arrow icons on the left side of the screen, or through the "Quick" tab after tapping the "Menu" icon. Press one of the magnifying glass icons in the map view to zoom the display in or out.

4. Tap "Find and Go" in the main menu to bring up the "Find" screen, which allows you to select a destination. Choose one of the on-screen options to pick a destination based on address, coordinates or POI. You can also select a previously stored destination, such as "Home" or "Work," which can be set through the "General Settings" menu. When selecting by address, tap the city name if that city has been previously selected, or tap "Other City" and use the keyboard to select the city. Do the same to narrow the search by street, and then house number or intersection, and tap "Done."

5. Select "POI" in the "Find" menu to select a point of interest as a destination. This menu is divided into categories such as "Services," "Transportation" and "Shopping," and is based on your current point of reference or your selected destination. It also includes previously chosen points. Tap the display to navigate though the categories and sub-categories to choose a POI. Tap "OK" to return to the map view and let the GPS guide you to that destination.

6. Tap "Settings" in the main menu and select one of the options to manage features such as speed warnings, favorite destinations, route recalculations, sound, language and volume settings. You can also manage other options including route types (shortest or fastest) and road exclusions. Tap "Advanced" to enter the "Advanced Settings" menu to make display, lighting and zoom adjustments.
