The Canon Powershot G2 digital camera was designed to work with nearly every operating system. However, some glitches may occur within the camera's internal software or in the Windows Vista operating system that prevents the device from working well with the computer. Fortunately, Canon has released a firmware upgrade that will not only improve the performance of the Powershot G2 by adding support for different file formats, power options and advanced exposure settings, but also allow it to work better with Windows Vista.
Instructions
1. Navigate to the Canon's official Powershot G2 homepage and select the "Drivers & Software" tab.
2. Click the "PSG2_Firmware-e.html" link.
3. Click the "I Agree -- Begin Download" button.
4. Open the downloaded file once the download is complete.
5. Connect your Powershot G2 camera to your computer via USB when prompted to do so by the firmware upgrade software.
6. Wait several minutes while the software updates the firmware on your camera.
7. Click the "Finish" button.
8. Disconnect the Powershot G2 from the computer.
9. Take a picture and reconnect the camera to computer to ensure it is working properly with Vista.
