As a smartphone, the Palm Centro has the ability to perform certain functional actions just as a computer would. Therefore, creating a stable Bluetooth connection between the phone and a laptop is not a difficult task, as long as both the Palm Centro and the laptop are Bluetooth compatible. The process only calls for a few adjustments to the settings on both the phone and the laptop in order to establish a connection.
Instructions
Enable the Laptop's Bluetooth
1. Open the computer's Control Panel by clicking on the "Start" menu, then selecting the "Control Panel" tab folder from the menu list.
2. Go to "Mobile PC" in the Control Panel and select "Windows Mobile Device Center."
3. Check the second box in the connection settings pop-up window that will appear. This box will read, "Allow connections to one of the following."
4. Select "Bluetooth" in the drop down menu below the checked box, then click "OK" to confirm the settings and close the window.
Setup the Palm Centro's Bluetooth
5. Press the phone's rectangular, silver menu key (located in the middle of the navigation buttons on the phone's keypad) to access the Palm Centro menu.
6. Scroll down and select the phone's "Settings / Tools" icon folder.
7. Select the Bluetooth settings in the phone.
8. Press the "Enable Bluetooth" action key to power on the phone's Bluetooth capability.
Connect the Palm Centro and Laptop
9. Press the "Search for Devices" action tab that will be listed in the phone's Bluetooth menu settings.
10. Select the "Pair with Devices" option when the computer's name and model number appear on your phone's screen. An indication will then be sent to the computer to accept the connection.
11. Using the phone's keypad, enter a four character passkey of your choice into the box that will appear to confirm your pairing decision.
12. Opt to pair the phone with the computer by typing the same exact passkey into the computer's pairing confirmation screen.
13. Click the "Accept" action to complete the Bluetooth connection setup to the phone.
