Put L44 Batteries In A Digital Clock

Digital clocks often take batteries known as L44 batteries, or LR44 batteries. These small 1.5 volt batteries are commonly used in digital clocks, wristwatches, and LED flashlights. They are small, round, silver-colored batteries that can get lost fairly easily due to their small size. When purchasing batteries, look for them near the hardware section in the store. They will be in the same section as AA and other batteries.

Instructions

Replacing your Digital Clock Batteries

1. Locate the battery pack on the clock. Generally the batteries will be be on the bottom of the clock or along the back of the clock base.

2. Remove the cover to the battery pack. Depending on your clock model, you may need to use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove any screws that are holding the back in place. Once you have removed any screws, remove the back and lay it aside.

3. Pop the batteries out of their place. Note the placement of the batteries, which had the negative side down and which had the positive side down. Discard your old batteries.

4. Remove the new batteries from their packaging and place them into the clock. Remember to correctly align them based on the positive and negative sides.

5. Replace the back of the battery tray and tighten any screws firmly. Test the clock to ensure the batteries were installed properly and reset the time.
