Obtain The Windows Mobile 6 1 Update For A Sghi607

Microsoft advises that you run the most recent version of the Windows Mobile operating system to have access to the latest features, updates and error fixes. If you are using the SGH-i607, more commonly known as the Samsung BlackJack II, Windows Mobile 6.1 is the most recent version available. To update to the software, you must download it from the Samsung website and install it to your handset using the Windows Mobile Device Center.


Instructions








1. Go to "Start" > "Settings" > "More > "More" > "About" on your SGH-i607. Note which version of Windows Mobile your handset is currently running. If it is less than Windows Mobile 6.1, continue. Download the Windows Mobile update from the Samsung website to your computer.


2. Remove the SIM card from your SGH-i607 and connect it to your computer through the USB port. Open the Windows Mobile Device Center. Click "Synchronize" to back up the information on your SGH-i607. Close the Windows Mobile Device Center and disconnect your SGH-i607 from the computer when the synchronization process is complete.


3. Open the folder you saved the Windows Mobile update to in Step 2. Double-click on the upgrade file. Enter "5688" in the ID prompt field on the pop-up screen. Enter "9231" in the Key prompt field on the pop-up screen. Click "Confirm."


4. Place a check mark next to "I understand the warning indicated above" on the Downloader Tool window. Click "Next." Connect SGH-i607 to your computer again and open the Windows Mobile Device Center again. Place a check mark in the box next to "I completed the steps indicated above" and click "Next." Click "Start" on the next screen to begin the installation process. Click "Done" when the screen displays the message that the download is complete.








5. Wait as the SGH-i607 reboots automatically after the installation is complete. As the Today screen loads on the handset enter "*2767*3855#" to make a full reboot of the handset. Wait for the handset to reboot. Power off the SGH-i607. Remove the battery panel and insert back in the SIM card.
