Clean Uv Filters

UV filters protect the camera lens, as well as block ultraviolet light.

When used with cameras, filters can create special effects such as image-splitting and soft focus -- as well as manipulating color and light density. UV filters are designed to block UV light, therefore sharpening the image, in addition to creating a blue-tinted negative color effect. They are also used to protect the lens: So they must be maintained and cleaned regularly. You can clean UV filters with rubbing alcohol and a cloth, always ensuring your fingers are clean to prevent grease marks.

Instructions

1. Remove the UV filter from the camera lens. Do this by unscrewing the filter that is located just in front of the camera lens. Make sure your fingers are clean to prevent smudging.

2. Pour a little rubbing alcohol onto a clean cloth. Wipe the UV filter with the treated cloth in small, circular motions.

3. Dry the filter with a microfiber cloth. Check the filter by holding it in front of a light source. If there are still marks, apply more alcohol until it is completely clean and clear.
